Adam Lane: A Life Dedicated to Empowerment and Advocacy

Adam K. Lane was born and raised in Overland Park, Kansas but has called Oklahoma City, OK his new home since moving there in 2018. His work as a compassionate advocate for others has stretched over many years of work in both the public and private sector. It was during his time as a paramedic that Adam survived a motorcycle accident that left him with a spinal cord injury.

Since then, Adam’s advocacy work has kicked into high gear. Since his 2007 accident, Adam has worked with the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation. He has served as a Development and Community Relation Specialist for the Whole Person, and an Ambassador for Coloplast. He is currently helping to match disabled people with their transportation needs at United Access.

As a trained and certified yoga instructor, Adam enjoys helping others find the same strength, power, and freedom that he has discovered by incorporating a regular yoga practice into his life. He also serves as the current president of the board for the Oklahoma Chapter of the United Spinal Association which serves individuals and families that have been affected by spinal cord injuries and disease.

Adam’s latest adventures has been training on his handcycle in preparation to ride it across the country. His plan is to raise the awareness of spinal cord injuries while also raising $1,000,000 for the United Spinal Association.
